story-time chez rosse
It's the latest & greatest pleasure around here; impromptu storytelling. Miss Ever gets so physically excited for her final bow & boisterous applause that she literally shakes while mumbling whatever words happen to pop into her sweet little brain. And Miss Vida Blue? Well, today's fam favorite was a story about a princess, aptly named Miss Jenne, who "huffed and puffed and blew her baby out!". Of course this Miss Jenne princess also went on to "live happily ever after", so you know, there's always that bit to look forward to.

the gift that keeps on giving
So this would be my favorite song (so far) off the mixer I received this morning.
And if you must know... this version has brought me to the brink of tears on more than one occasion.
Dang Chipotle.

a sequence of events
This morning we slept in... (10)
I don't know if there's anything sweeter than having good friends in your corner. It doesn't hurt either when they send packages filled with pretty postcards, prettier photos, artwork, mixed cd's, kind notes & treat cards. My goodness... it was like a gift from the heavens this morning.
Headed downstairs to discover two massive piles of puppy puke... (6)
Opened the coffee cannister only to remember it'd been emptied the day before... (2)
Headed out the door in search of coffee, garbage bags & recycling in tow... (0)
Decided to stop by our mailbox on route... (10)

Thank you Amanda. Thank you Lola. Thank you Cedar.
Here's to wishin' (once again) that our corners were closer. (xoxoxo)

meet "meatball"
For a long long time this kid called herself "Moe"... which then became "Me" and just recently she'll answer "Meatball" if asked her name. Alas, our defiant little Meatball spent so long in time-out this morning that she repositioned the pillow, grabbed the blanket from the back of the chair & decided to fall asleep. Beat apologizing to mama, I guess.
An update: We don't really do "time-outs" in this house or at least we don't call them that. We do do time alone in a chair and to be perfectly honest it doesn't happen all that often. The girls are put in a chair, given the stipulations (i.e. stop crying, improve your attitude, be willing to apologize) and are then able to leave the chair on their own accord. Average time spent in a chair usually amounts to a minute. Ever spent over three and a half hours in her chair yesterday, three of which were spent sleeping whatever off. I say it all the time... it ain't easy being little.
P.S. Love that even fast asleep she's lookin' a little grumpy.

pieces of our morning - take two
Here's a little side note to all this Easter goodness, mostly pertaining to that final pic. Yesterday a woman stopped Vida Blue & I in the grocery store and said "Oooh lucky girl, you got your mama's eyes!". (She doesn't, they're all B.) Regardless, just know, I'll be riding the life out of that one for the next month or so.
