on a sidenote:

The mister and I leave for Vegas in the morning. Sans our littles. Hence maybe why I've been a little MIA around here. I just wanted to soak them up.

I'll leave you with these shots taken a few days ago. My girls and their "cheeeeeeese" faces.

Or "theeeeeeese" in the case of Miss E.

heart

I adore this man and his books. "The Heart and the Bottle" was requested over and over this week. And my goodness, the clever questions that arose from it. I wish I could say the same of my answers.

last night, every night

Forget monkeys, we've moved on to bigger & better.

"Robots!"

(Gotta love her sound effects.)

bless you poppy

We met "grempa" at earls for dinner tonight. Vida Blue had made a special necklace for him this afternoon and was BEYOND EXCITED to give it to him. To be honest I wasn't too sure how it would all go down. Let's just say I was a little surprised when he didn't even attempt to take it off. He walked out of the restaurant with it on... even talked his "neck-lace" up to a few hostesses on the way out.

Gosh, I love this man.

Thank you Poppy. And bless you.

here's to...

Yesterday I asked Vida Blue if she wanted a brother or a sister. She got all concerned and said she wanted to "Keep Ever". Good answer kid. Good answer.

an adventure to remember

Hittin' the road to Osoyoos with the most funny, bizarrely talented girl I know. (Ask her to show you an old cheerleading routine some time, or perform a song & dance number to "Rrrrrrrollin' on the River". She will, without a moment's hesitation.) Great, albeit frequently interrupted conversation. Peeing in a cup, bushes, by roadsides and in holes in the ground. Motion sickness followed by ridiculous amounts of randomly contained puking. (Thank you sweet Freddy.) A little roadside tradesie... one big ol' bag of barf for one abandoned beer bottle. (I have yet to forgive myself.) Not being able to get this dang song outta my head. Being accessories to a few white lies all in the name of surprising a dear friend for her birthday. A quick hot tub followed by a walk to the park gazebo. (Somehow still a really good time.) Takin' a few saucy photos. *ahem* Gettin' caught in a little rain shower on the way home. Feedin' our littles & then exhausting them with every backyard game/sport imaginable. It workin'. Two words: Dom Perignon. Followed by fajitas, chunky style. Great uninterrupted conversation. Laughin' til your stomach hurts. Stayin' up later than you have in a long time. Discovering toast with raspberry jam & thin slices of aged white cheddar. Rotating between the pool, the hot tub and the lake. Seriously marvelling at the way our little ones get along. Dreamin' up the most brilliant mini-v accessory ever. To be seen soon on Dragons' Den. Right Ash?

our little convict

I lost track of how many photos were taken. Let's just say it was a lot. An awful lot. Tell her to not smile, she giggled. Tell her to not giggle, she smiled. Around and around we went until I finally told her to take a deep breath and hold it.

Voila.

"toot toot"

That'd be me... and my horn. : )

Who knew it was possible to fall in love with a power tool? Thanks JD for the lender. And thank you Craigslist. Much to the mister's dismay... I'll be back.
